Hello,

I am about to buy a Pioneer Elite SX-31 with speakers CS-T5100 or an AKAI AA-R41 with speakers AKAI.
What do you recommend to buy?

Thanks

It depends on what you're looking for. The Pioneer SX-31 aka Pioneer SX-777 has a digital tuner with presets which is more convenient for listening to the radio and more power 65 wpc vs. 50 wpc for the Akai and is a decade or so newer and possibly less likely to have problems. There is likely a remote available for it and you could find a universal remote if it's not included.

The Akai has the virtue of being silver faced which may better suit your tastes and likely adds to the resale value. It appears to have a digital tuner, but no presets not remote capable. The 15 wpc difference in power is not likely to be significant.

I'd lean toward the Pioneer, but you're unlikely to go wrong with either if they're functioning properly. As for the speakers, neither company is noted for their speakers with rare exceptions. The Pioneer you listed is at best a mediocre speaker, but if you don't have any speakers both are obviously better than nothing.
