PL-51 OEM Headshell Question

Hey guys,

I recently purchased a Pioneer PL-51 (not the PL-51A) in very nice condition. However, the headshell is not the original that came with the turntable. Everything else looks original and it kind of bugs me that the headshell isn't.

Does anyone know if there is a model number associated with the original headshell? Is it possible to find vintage ones out there? I have found the modern day "replicas" out there that look the same but are missing the pioneer logo but I don't know if these are junk and how hard it may be to find a OEM one. Any advice?

The attached photo is an example of the original stock headshell that I am trying to find... Not the aftermarket one that came with PL-51 I bought.

I have a PL-55DX I bought new and it has the same headshell as yours hope this helps

Sorry for the confusion guys. The photo I attached was of the stock headshell I am inquiring about and on the lookout for... Not the one that I currently have on the PL-51 I bought.

The model number is Pioneer PP 304 for the silver one - the black one may be a different number.

PP302 is listed by PIONEER for the PL-51.When I entered PP304 in the parts.pioneerelectronics.com site, It came up with 3 subs. the PP301,302, and 303. Whether it's black or Silver, Pioneer ain't saying. Try Danny @ www.Yesterdaysaudio.com He deals in 70's PIONEER gear and parts.

One thing I did notice in the Manuals, Headshells are not given a part # for the PL-41, 51, 61 71, PLA45, PLA45D, all of which look to use the same headshell. My PLA45D has a Silver one.
