Playing both 33/45 and 78 on a Dual 1019?

I think I saw one or two while searching, but I don’t think I should go for a ceramic cartridge. Then it may indeed be better still to pay for the replacement sled, overpriced as it may be.
 
I found a TK-12 sled on a Danish webshop called Dacapoaudio. It’s indeed not cheap but shipping from there is at least much cheaper (and faster) than from EBay. They also sell the dedicated 78-suited cartridge Audio Technica AT-VM95SP. I only hope I won’t get an apologetic phone call telling me that the TK12 is out of stock after all .

Incidentally, they also have a lot of new old stock cartridges including bulky retro-looking Ronette jukebox ones, several flip-styli, and the very one I remember from my parent’s old Philips turntable.

oh my goodness! if it's the one I saw on their website it's 94 euros! That's certainly pricey!

The description also said "generic", which would give me some pause on ordering it without seeing it first......I hope it works out for you.

Agreed, sensible advice. I use the Shure M44-7 in my Dual 1019 (and occasionally play 78 RPM discs on it).

I don’t know of any less expensive options. Even searching dualfred’s shop showed up nothing.

When dealing with old stuff and few suppliers, it’s a “you gotta pay to play” type of thing.

The simpler TK11 can be used also. For single use (not changer) the cart then needs a wedge that tilts the foreside upwards.

Thanks. In the end I figured that I could waste days combing the internet and still be stuck in doubts, interpretations and opinions afterwards, which would be even more pricey. And Audiokarma seems to have excellent customer support, so if it doesn’t work after all I hope they can help.

Unfortunately Audiokarma just mailed me that their supplier doesn’t have that TK12 after all , etc.

If anyone knows a place where I can buy a TK12 I’d love to know! And otherwise I might try and find a TK11 then.
 
You can try dualfred.de in Germany. Nothing on his web site, but he might have some or maybe know of a European source....

Audiokarma? Are you sure about the name of that vendor?
 
I have a 1019 and two sleds, onto which a Shure M78 cartridge is mounted for 78s and microgoove cartridges can be mounted on the other one for 33s and 45s.

Easy. Later 78s sound fabulous played on it and into my regular system.

The trick is now to find that second sled, and so far it doesn’t look good …
I can look on EBay again.

Just ordered it from Pat’s Audio who had one for sale for $49, the best price I could find on EBay, $84 incl. shipping and taxes, which is still better than Da Capo! And it’s definitely the right item.

Now keeping my fingers crossed it’s indeed in stock / it won’t get lost en route / the deliveryperson doesn’t happen to own a 1019 / the ship won’t sink, or whatever !

I've used pat's audio sleds and worked well for me!
