Please help me Identify these speakers

Normally when a tweeter goes bad the voice coil opens up ,the voice coil is what those leads attach to and when either it's over driven with distortion, or sees direct current the coil burns out and the tweeter is dead, some times the leads that attach to the coil become intermittent. and just need resoldered.

If you have access to a multi meter or Ohm meter, you can see if the voice coil in the tweeter is open, or broken, as Masterdraco said.

On the picture above- just move the yellow tweeter wire to the L-pad terminal with the cap (i.e, from pin 2 to pin 3). Leave the cap connected to that L-pad terminal- the loading of the L-pad improves the response (impedance smoothing).

That cap is well replaced by a 10uf Dayton poly cap from Parts Express. That's what's in my trio of M150s (front three channels of my HT system).

As for the tweeter- Human Speakers will rebuild it to a different dome than original (metal dome). You'd either want to rebuild BOTH tweeters, or find an original from an M100, M150, or any of the other early models...

Regards,
Gordon.
