Please help me repair my Marantz 2230!

are you sure c757 is in the right way round ? + goes to r764 ..
also unplug the unit from the wall ..set your meter on 10k ohms and check ohms right across r759 .. it should read 3.3k ...3300 ohms ..

My meter doesn't have a 10k ohm setting. I used the 20k ohm setting and got a reading of 0.

C757 looks right to me according to the + on the board.

well this is strange .. it looks like its marked c757 but is actually c754 ... negative to r757 2.2k ..
as for the meter reading i am not sure why its reading 0 .. it would be best to unsolder one side and measure its ohms again ..the circuit is maybe affecting the reading ..

c757 is 22uf ..c754 is 47uf

I will unsolder one side and test r759 again in a bit.

When I did the recap I pulled and replaced one cap at a time, to insure that I put the right caps in the right places.

The spot that is marked c757 on the board is currently a 22uf, c754 is 47uf and there is a matching one right next to it.

I unsoldered one side of what I believe is r759 (kind of hard with the smudged screenprint numbers), I used the 20k ohm setting and got a reading of 3.75 ohms.

am guessing that is really 3.75 k ohms ..3750 ohms .. could be meter error .. i dont think this is the reason for the massive voltage drop ...
i dont suppose you touched r760 at all ?

I have not adjusted r760, when I caused all this mess I was trying to get a reading to see if I needed to make an adjustment.

I had been testing the amp extensively after each board was recapped and it seemed to be working and sounding great until I caused the short.
