Hi,

A local technician is selling a 2220B for $300 dollars serviced. Below is the service that he is offering.

1. Cleaned all controls, lubricated.
2. Install LED lamps
3. Replace the dial meter velum if needed.
3. All inputs and outputs checked
4. Wax the dial cord
5. Check the AM/FM alignment and Stereo signal separation and the signal meters.
6. Set the amplifier bias current
7. Adjust the rails voltage.
8. Cold check critical transistors. (phono amp and power transistors)
9. Replace Capacitors

-Does that sound like a fair price to you?

-I would be pairing it with a pair of rebuilt Realistic Nova-7B speakers and a Dual 1229. Any concerns, or thoughts, there?

Any advice that you could share would be greatly appreciated.

3) replace vellum if needed? On a 40+ year old unit just do it
5)Check AM/FM tuner alignment? Does he really have the test equipment to do it?
7)Adjust rails voltage? I would like to know how he does that ,maybe I'll learn something new.
8) Cold check critical transistors. What the heck does that actually mean?
9)Replace capacitors? All of them ,one of them or what?

Overall kind of ambiguous as to what's really going to actually be done in the end.
