I was hoping someone could help me out here. I know there are different Polk Audio M 7's, this is the only pic I have. Im curious if these might be the ones with the Peerless Tweeter....thank you in advance.

I was afraid of that. I was hoping maybe the logo placement on the grill would help. I'll try and get a better pic.

All we need here is a tiny glimpse of the tweeter dome or even more of the faceplate up to the dome. So far I'd have to say that they sure do resemble my old 7C's with the SL2000 tweeters, but that's not definitive enough.

Being a proud owner of a pair of 7C's and a Polk enthusiast. My guess, due to the beveled edges, is that this pair do not have the Peerless tweet. Most of the ones I've seen in person and on the web with Peerless tweets, the edges are flat.

Those are probably SL2000 tweeters.

Definitely NOT Peerless. Voice coil wires come off the dome at an angle on Peerless.

That is the SL2000 tweeter and you're correct that "its a pretty good speaker either way.". The 7's are highly considered within the vintage Polk community and it's been said that James Polk considered them one of his finest speakers in that line up (4's, 5's, 7's & 10's)

Mine have the SL 2000 and I enjoy them, you will hear from folks that say they're a tad harsh and that you should swap them out for the RDO-194 upgrade tweeters that you can get directly from Polk.

If you're considering purchasing them, IMHO they should be fine however it's your ears, not mine or anyone elses that matter. Let us know if you get them.

The SL2000 is definitely not a deal breaker.

I also think the "SL2000 is a tad harsh" thing is really "I've heard SL2000 is a tad harsh, so I must hear it too" most of the time.
