See these guys available, need some info?
Look nice, but I already have the following speakers:
JBL L36 Decades
Magneplaner Smga
Klipsch Heresys II
Polk Audio Monitor 7c
Polk Monitor 10a
AR38b
Are the SDA speakers an upgrade to any on my list?
I'm running a 15wpc EL84 tube amp at the moment.... Thinking these guys probably like having juice?

These speakers will have voicing similar to your 7s and 10s that you already own, but will have the SDA imaging that makes them special. Very worth trying if you have
a room that allows proper placement and a decent amplifier to get the best out of them. These are the smallest SDA speakers ever made, but setup properly, some say they image better than the biggest from that lineup. I've had both SDA CRS and the larger SDA models and the CRS+ are the ones I kept.

As amps go, some run tubes with their SDAs and like it, others would say that you will be bass shy with an el84 rig. Only your listening habits will be able to solve this.

Don't forget to ask for the SDA interconnect cable that goes between the two speakers. Without it, only half the speakers will work.

I liked mine after I made the proper stands for them. I ran them with a 100wpc Technics integrated with good results.

Are the ones you're looking at the first version with the side by side tweeters or do they have the single tweeter?

Regardless, 15 tube or SS watts will not drive them properly.

I'm going to respectfully disagree with above comments about lack of power, based on my personal experience.

My SDA SRS 2 ran beautifully on my restored 1962 Fisher 800-B receiver (better than any other amps I've tried) and that was bench tested to produce 18 wpc at clipping and 12 wpc at 1% THD. Both the SRS and CRS+ are 92db efficient. They don't need watts, they just need current (or voltage in this case). I think you'll be pleasantly surprised how well they work together. If you like your Monitor 7 and 10s and you have the space requirements for them, you'll be very pleased with the CRS+.

Thanks guys.... appreciate the info and comments!

The SDA SRS 2 are indeed 92dB, but the CRS+ are 89dB.

I've run/heard various SDA's off a low powered (20wpc) tube amp, 70wpc and 100wpc tube amps. Sure, you'll get sound from 20wpc, but not close to what you'll get with the higher powered ones.

All CRS, including the CRS+ are 92db.

Interesting that we have different experiences. I've run CRS+, SRS, SRS 2, and 2B off 18 wpc and 50 wpc tube amps, 100 and 315 wpc A/B amps, and 60 and 550 wpc class D amps. My favorite was the 18 wpc tube amp followed by the 60 wpc class D amp.

Well, guess it just goes to show how much personal taste factors into this hobby.

Sorry, the pin/blade 5th generation CRS+ are 89dB.
