Polk Audio SDA compact reference system

It depends on if you like the SDA effect. Tone wise they will be very similar to the monitors, hell they share drivers. I had SDA 1Bs for quite a while, I liked them, but on some recordings the SDA effect didn't sound natural. The SDAs wound up getting pushed out of my main system when I got my Wharfedale W70Ds.

So....no one is arguing that these are a step up from monitor 7 & 10's?

I love my Monitor 7Bs, but I personally think the CRS+ is a major step up if you have the proper space for them. Now, not everyone digs the SDA effect, but if you haven't heard it, you should at least try them out for a while.

The only speakers that I liked enough to move SDAs out of my main system are my fully restored Ohm Fs. But those are special.

It's called Dynamat Xtreme, it's a damping material. You apply it to the stamped steel driver baskets to prevent the metal from ringing.

No! You cut pieces to fit on the spokes.
Many of the links at the Polk forum are dead, but I gathered you apply the mat to the back of the basket before the magnet. If this is correct, how does the magnet get removed? Or do you simply apply it to the exposed area around the magnet.....

You do not ever want to remove the magnet. Apply the adhesive around the top and bottom plates that sandwich the magnet.

As I stated, apply the Dynamat to the spokes.
