and yes, i do like the cc3000 preamp, i have one feeding a nad 2140 in my pc system...it just takes a lot of work to make it reliable with those stupid plastic extensions on the selectors. phono stage is awesome imo.

When I opened the lid on the 3000, one plastic extension looked like this

The 'new' caps were not even the same. These got replaced. IPA couldn't remove the Sharpie.
 
The plastic standoffs inside the CC-3000 are also brittle. The bottom doesn't have a removable plate, so you have to disassemble and fold the board back to replace any components. At least a couple of the black stand-offs will break while doing this. It's a good sounding pre, especially once restored, but some cheap materials used!
 
Here's a mostly Yamaha stack. Everything in this photo is controlled from a Harmony remote, including the Nakamichi cassette deck, the Emotiva DAC, the Panasonic Blu-ray DVD player, and the linkage to the YDP2006. Also included in this setup, but not in the picture, are a Dual 1219, Tandberg 6041 R2R, and a 65" Samsung TV. Speakers are AR-3a and AR-9. The EQ shown is only used when my wife is listening to UK TV shows to help with intelligibility.

I like your Emotiva DAC. I use three of them for remote source switching and volume control of my vintage systems. :beerchug:

Yes ... I do the same, although for some inputs I go directly to the DAC on the CX-1000. Do you ride or drive BMWs?
