True, I guess -- we signed up last winter to be volunteer firefighters in our small community and have embarked on a lengthy training process. I may be well into my dotage before I ever attend a live fire. It's a whole other world from the one I retired from a few years back. A world of bureaucracy and acronyms, mostly -- maybe not all that different from being a stockbroker after all, now that I think about it.

TPBM has trusted a stranger and been made to regret it.
