Prettiest SX Receivers?

My vote(s) for the prettiest Pioneer's go to:
SX-2500
SX-1500TD
QX-8000 and QX8000A

I love the x2x series as well but there was just something special about the 2500 and 1500TD look.

my avatar is a 890 I bought in 2014ish, refurbed it in 2016 and just worked over the tuner today...its been daily driving 8-12 hours a day for over 6 years. Im closing in on finishing the mancave, an sx3900 will be driving HPM100's' already own em, just gotta hook it up

I always liked the Allied 495 receiver, Pioneer-built, carried by Radio Schaak after the merger but I don't think
it was branded "Allied/Radio Shack." May have been a lesser one, a 490 (?) that shared the same graphics.

All that said, I stumbled upon an Allied 395, which I really didn't care for at that bygone time..."too old looking"...and she is now
the center piece of my system, with a hot FM receiver and nice warm amp ;)

I have the 395. What speakers do you use with it ? I didn't have the wire adapters but a pair of Advents I restored came with some.

I have an Allied 495 and 498 as well as the 395; all made by Pioneer. Allied introduced the 498, 495 and 490 just prior to the Radio Shack merger. The only Allied/Pioneer receiver Radio Shack re-ordered after the merger was the 395 due to its outstanding reviews in High Fidelity, Stereo Review and, Consumer Reports. Too bad, the Allied "x9x" series was beautiful. Here's a pic of my 498 and 495 which I use for bedroom headphone listening.

@tuberadios69 , is there much of a difference between the 490 and 495? I mentioned the 490, but truthfully was wondering if I imagined it, LOL...I know
there were a couple "lower' versions, 435 and 445 but they were very much cosmetically like my 395.

Check out these pages from an Allied catalog. The 495 was rated at 55 wpc rms (probably just at 1,000hz) while the 490 is spe'd at 33 wpc (prob at 1,000hz) and, the 495 had two tuning meters.
