Yes, that's it! So many consoles look terrible, but I've seen several that have such a classic, cool look. I was just wondering if the audio components inside it will be as cool as the visual design is?!?

The console you pictured is a 1967 RCA, I think it was called the Finlandia.
It was one model below their top of the line series.

It just amazes me the wide variety of visual design you can find in consoles. Some are so hideous and some are so breathtaking!

Be careful, you are heading down a very very addictive road :D

I have been there done that, to the point where I had at minimum 2 in every room including the kitchen. Did I mention it was a one bedroom apartment. I only have probably 5 now, and I am still attempting to rid my self of them. The designs were awesome, back in the day where you had huge empty wall space. Now you have to decide...couch or console...

I went to an estate sale today, and the had a really cool looking curtis mathis console for $65. I couldn't shoot the whole thing, because two guys were standing over it looking through records. I got the controls, though. It looked great, and the radio part worked fine. The player spun, but it looked like it needed work. I might pick it up, if it's still there on 50% off day.
