Finally on-demand for MGM+. Better than I thought it was going to be. Cool and different concept to all the world's gonna end movies. A bit corny in spots, but they didn't get out of hand with it so it kept me interested. The flashbacks were ok, explained some of what we needed to know. Give it a watch, so much crap coming out the last decade or so, this was pretty good.

I thought it was a breath of fresh air regarding sci-fi movies. It has a great, original plotline and was very well acted. So many sci-fi movies today are boring sequels or spinoffs. I would like to see Project Hail Mary usher in more original plot line sci-fi movies. I am hoping it drives the movie industry away from giving us the same old same old crap year after year. Star Wars, Marvel, etc. have had their run and I really don't care to go down that path again.

I passed on it, because it is another “the world is going to end soon”. So not enough new for me.

What we did enjoy was Passengers. It was an interesting storyline.

I'll get around to seeing it, just haven't yet. Not sure if I want to read it or watch it first. This is an Andy Weir story, he also wrote The Martian which I liked.

Passengers was pretty cool.

I read the book and thought it was very good. The movie followed the book pretty well. It had less background info about astrophage and the technology, but that would have slowed the pace. It’s a movie less about world’s end and more about friendship and reaching across barriers of space, time, and language.

I just watched it the other day. Could have been an hour shorter instead of all the "Look at me" shots. Reminded me of Kevin Costner movies where we get to stare at him for an hour and a half along with maybe an hour of movie.

It was OK, but disposable entertainment. Wife enjoyed it. As above, it could have been an hour shorter. Too bad they killed off Milana Vayntrub so quickly, but then it wouldn't have been the same movie.

After Gosling’s fourth proclamation (of maybe twelve?) that he’s not the right guy for all this I began to feel annoyed.

But I believe him now, at least ;)

IMO the movie is better than the book, for both The Martian and Project Hail Mary.
Weir is not a great writer, but he tells great stories.

Read the book first and thought the movie was not very good. Loved the Martian as both book and movie. Left too many things out in the movie that was explained in the book. Then again, the movie would have been five hours long. Martian had better actor. Want to see spielberg movie next.

.... Want to see spielberg movie next...
Disclosure day was pretty good, not Spielberg's usual sappy stuff with too many kids... Emily Blunt was her usual awesome self, I see an Oscar nomination for her. Coleman Domingo was also good, the rest of them were meh...
