PSB Owners Thread

So a friend gifted these PSB 500 speakers to me. He got them in the early 2000's and his wife wanted something else soooo now I'm the owner. First taste I'm loving them. Very clear, just enough bass for my taste, good trebel and the mids are wonderful. Very open and separated from the other instrumentation. The ghetto setup you see them on is in my shop for a quick setup running through my 1977 Sansui TU-217 amp, and TU-317 Tuner.

I found a person selling a pair of Century 1000i. They were in really good shape except for one grill frame that was broken, nothing that some glue could fix. They are the taller speaker.

I'm a huge fan of PSB speakers and have many of their speakers in 3 different systems throughout the house. I welcome all PSB owners to this thread and to show off their speakers.

I have the Synchrony one connected to a Denon PMAS1. I have also had good effects with something as basic as my old Nad c720bee. Can easily live with this.

Hi PSB lovers. I'm hoping you can help identify a pair of PSB's that I am looking at purchasing that have no info on other than a poor photo which I will attach. Apparently there are no identifiers on the speaker that would help. The image is poor but I'm hoping it's enough - if not, I may need to make the journey to see these in person (they are not close by). For all I know, they may not even be PSB - Appreciate any and all responses.

I know these. They are either PSB CS180

or PSB Cs260

They sure look like the CS180 - thank you very much for your post - much appreciated.
By no means high up in the PSB lineup but well received by most based on what I can find online - I'm going to make the trip and check them out.
Thanks again!

I believe the CS260/180 were the highest speaker in their lineup when these were produced.

I read some reviews for the Stratus Gold when I first started looking for a large floor standing speaker in the early 2000s. I think I missed a local pair around 2007 and have been casually looking on Craigslist and FB Marketplace ever since. I finally saw a pair of original Stratus Gold in oak finish within a 2hr drive from me last week. Closed a deal and grabbed them. They needed some gentle wood cleaning from 30+ years of grime, but are functionaly perfect and the wood finish still looks great.

I'm really impressed by the sound these put out. I've had Mirage M3, Sony SS-M9, SDA-1C, SDA-2B with the TL mod, along with a dozen other Polk speakers, and a set of Revel F208. These Stratus Gold can hang with the best of those, really. I'm keeping this pair in the collection. I just need to figure out what to do with the base as far as isolation. I might just go for some stick on cork/felt pads. The base is hollow/angled and not really conducive to tapping for a threaded insert.

I grabbed a pair of CS-180 about 45 minutes ago. They are in decent condition. I haven't plugged them in yet.. I do have the covers.. they for sure need to be wiped down. They have the black ash wrap on them.. peeling a bit, but these things are not much older than me so it is expected. It seems they are fairly rare because I cant really find much info on them yet.
