Holy crap. I don't know if I could ever sell something I did that much work on. Seems weird that someone would buy this at a "vintage radio auction" without knowing anything about it or even being able to test it (so presumably just to flip it on ebay) unless it went for really cheap, which would seem like it means and non-audio themed auction. Doesn't seem like a suspect seller at all, so must be something more to the story.

Personally I think I would preferr the transformer black, but that is just me. Also wondering if the tube caps are chromed or polished and laquered, not sure if chroming alum is common.

Its a retro thing, I don't think it was popular in the 50's but I think a few people may have done it. It was all about powdered skin, bright red lipstick and jet black hair. I love it, as much as I love big ol shiny tubes
