Qobuz HiRez streaming has finally hit the U.S. and it’s really really good

Response time may be affected by COVID-19, depending on whether their staff can work from home.

I thought it would be a good time to try a streaming service, since I'm confined to barracks, like everyone else...
Are you in tye US Military?.

If I were you I’d just try and resign up with the free one month subscription if you can .

Again, no offense meant it was a little friendly ball busting. I don't normally play a grammar cop. Here, or on TV.

No worries--I'm the very last person ever to be offended by a grammar correction.
Amused, maybe, but never offended.

Well, Qobuz customer service have applied the code to my account, but they didn't tell me how... I'm guessing that means there isn't a way for users to do it...

I can now stream in hifi and hires. BubbleUPnP doesn't seem to want to auto advance to the next track in a playlist, so I've installed the Qobuz app on my old Android 4.4 media box. Working okay. May need to try wired ethernet, as there seen to be short disturbances with WiFi (even though the signal and data rates are good).

Library is strangely patchy, with albums missing from some artists I'm interested in, even though they're on the same label... Can't get The Unthanks' 'Magpie', for instance...

But I still cannot find any way to enter my payment details through the app... I'm sure my old details will have expired, so good luck to them when they try charging in three months time...

Well the positive is your up and running, I’m sure you can iron out the rest as you go along. Email customer support and tell them what you just told us. As far as the missing songs from albums I don’t know as I have never run into that issue with an album off Qobuz, but again bring it to there attention so they can better there site. Good luck happy streaming and keep us posted.

Having got Qobuz running on my little Android 4.4 mediabox, I thought I'd try the PC app.

It seems to have a better GUI, or else I am getting used to finding my way around Qobuz UI...

But it point blank refuses to start playing any music, to any output device. It just sits with a rotating arc where the play/pause button should be, not advancing the current play time from 00.00s.

It doesn't give any user errors, it just doesn't play.

The report log is littered with 'Erreurs', which lead me to suspect that the app is unable to find the stream in the server.

I've tried changing just about everything I can think of (and which the app should report as troublesome, if it is having trouble, rather than simply refusing to play).

All my other music apps work immediately after installation on my PC...

Feedback has been provided...

Running Qobuz with mconnect. Loving it for the most part. I liked roon, but $6 once for mconnect vs $700 once (or whatever roon is monthly today....$10.99?). Decision was easy.
Glad your liking it, I used mconnect for a time also and it works great for the most part , switched to Roon and I prefer it but imo can’t go wrong with either one. Enjoy the music

Just for for fun, I set up a Roon Server on my Linux machine, and started piping through my DAC. So fun to fool around with it...what’s the best reason for roon again? I mean, it’s really great and all, just not sure I want to pay so much. Couple of weeks to explore it again.

The Sound Quality of Roon , gapless playback , Roon EQ Roon Radio (which is radio stations from around the world ) MQA (First Unfold) etc , the list goes on and on . But for those that just do casual listening Roon really isn’t needed , however if you are a critical listener and want to squeeze the best out of your setup then Roon may be the way to go .

So... how much better is Roon to Amazon Music HD?
Roon is not a streaming service . It takes streaming services your music library etc and bundles it in one place . On top of that you get a pretty advanced eq if you desire to use it MQA decoding , Roon radio and much more . Also to add imo the best sounding out of them all , but we know that’s all subjective.
