Question for Sherwood S-7100A Owners

I recently bought a Sherwood S-7100A at my local Goodwill Vintage Audio Salon. I'm curious about a "-30 dB" marking on the volume control. What does the owner's manual have to say about the significance of that point?

shocley, I think that unit has the loudness control integrated with the volume control.
Which gives you pleasant warm sound at low volume. Your starting at -30 db and as
you increase the volume the loudness emphasis is decreased, when you reach +8 db
you have reached the full rated power of the amp, about 18 watts. I have the Sherwood 7110 and the 7210 that I bought at Goodwill and do not have the owners manual for either of them. The Sherwoods always had high marks from Consumer Reports for receivers in their price range and should sound very good with most speakers.
You could try and Google them for more information. A very good find at the "Salon"
