Question involving unusual record player.

Someone that has offered me a Califone "Director" Model 12V9 1950s record player. It is kind of interesting looking and here is a picture of it:

Question: I'm trying to figure out what tube-lineup is in the amplifier of this unit. Does anyone out there know?

Hard to say with certainty off hand. 12 Watts could be a simple P-P of 6BQ5's or a single ended 6L6, 6CA7 or 6550. There would only be a small chance of it being an ultralinear.

But topology is a bit moot if you are buying it because of outstanding condition, or just as an oddity if the price is right, who cares ahead of time?

Has 4 tubes, I think, but I have no idea what they are, sorry.

Uses 6AQ5s as far as I can discover.

6AQ5's are comparable to 6V6's of which would need a quad of them to achieve 12 Watts.

But if the price is right, and the unit is in good shape, just for the oddness of it is of some value even if you don't use it.

My music teacher in elementary school used to have one of these that she rolled around on a cart from room to room. I remember it sounding really nice. Very funky hinged arm that pivoted in the middle. Much better sounding than you might expect.
