Do anyone here by chance know if the dustcover from a Technics Sl D35 would fit the Sl Q2? It looks the same in pictures, but i don't know it's measurments.
Are you sure about that table being an SLD35 I went to the vintage Technics Site and didn't see that model listed. Saw a SLD33 Most likely it would fit as the bases are very similar. But don't hold me to that.
There are a few differences in Technics dust covers. Some of the older ones, such as the SL-23 mount to the hinges with large, flat screws. See here: -- http://www.vintagetechnics.info/turntables/sl23.htm
The "newer" ones, including the SL-Q2, have hinges with slots that the dustcover slides into (the dustcover has tabs on it that fit in the slots). See here: http://www.vintagetechnics.info/turntables/slq2.htm
However -- and this is very important -- some of the dustcovers with tabs/slots are much shallower than some of the others and won't fit over the tonearm on a table like the SL-Q2. My guess (and I don't know for sure) is that the difference has to do with the tonearm -- the P-mount tables have lower profile tonearms, and therefore have the shallower dustcovers. The 1/2" mount tables would have the deeper dustcovers.
