SL-1700mk2 dustcover the same as SL-1200mk2 dustcover ??

I have purchased many 1200 covers for 1600MKII / 1700MKII tables and the past 18 months they ALL have the same exact warp as yours shows. I have come to the conclusion it is a result of some process change that must have occurred around the same time.

I adjust how the cover sits in the rear hinges to compensate. You could also try to lessen the spring resistance on the high-side hinge.

Did anyone ever find a working solution for this warping? I can adjust the hinges so the front corners equally don't touch the plinth in the front but can't get the cover to touch the plinth on both sides. Do you think this would warp to the right shape over time if I left something weighted on the left side for a few days/weeks? Is a hair dryer a bad idea?

I bought about 40 covers before the huge price hikes this year, at the end of last year. I have used about half of them so far (I include them with any SL 1200 MKx I refurbish) and all have been warped. I have been able to "unwarp" a cover I added to a personal SL 1200 (original), yes they fit that one too, by putting a half inch piece of wood under the side that would hit first and then but enough books on the cover so that the side that would stay up normally laid flat on the table. Took about a week, no heat was necessary.

Great news. I've been putting weight on the left side, but I hadn't thought to shim the right side at the same time. We've got a trip coming up soon, so I'll try this while we're gone. Thanks for the tip.
