Quickie 1030

Hey All, got a 1030 the other day, it had a nice wood case, so I picked it up. Did a quick recap and set-up, sounds nice for a very small amp, but a little lacking in the low end. Here's the pics....

Had that little guy. Wish I had kept it. Smooth buttery what.....18 watts? Miss it. Good work.

I reacpped one. And while I was rebuilding a 1060 for my son I let him use the 1030. He has the 1060 now and my 1030. I fear ill never see the 1030 back home again. :D The phono board is nicer in the 1060 but he also likes the tone controls better on the 1030. He says when set flat it sounds like it should. He says even with the bass, mid and high controls set flat on the 1060 id doesnt sound flat.

The 1030 is a great little amplifier when used with really beneficent speakers. I wish it had mid tone controls like the 1060 - Chris

I'm currently in the process of a recap on mine. Finished the PS the other night and even with that refreshed it sounds great for a small watt unit. I'm about 20% into the 700 board but haven't had much time lately to devote to it unfortunately. I'm also on the look out for the 1060 that I've read so much about. Seems that unit has a fairly large following.
