R.I.P. to a Great one! Meatloaf is gone!

"Meat Loaf" filled the stage in more ways than one.

A big man, with a big voice.

Guess his dad gave him the nickname of "Meat" as he was a large reddish coloured baby at the time of his birth.

And, his stature of being big, was reinforced by playing Centre on a HS team, and having the coach calling him, "Meat Loaf".

His pass port even had "Meat Loaf" on it, which got him into a 6 hour discussion with customs.

He had a huge talent to go with his size.

RIP "M L"

Word today of the passing of Marvin Lee Aday aka Meat Loaf at the age of 74. the Loaf suffered from a variety of health issues over the past few years. No official cause of death was reported but sources say he was suffering from Covid-19.

I remember the first time I heard "Bat Out of Hell" during intermission at a concert. Everyone clapped when the song was done and looked at each other wondering who was THAT? Blown away!

RIP Meat Loaf. Thanks for the spins.

Wow. Didn't hear about this. Will always remember SNL's intro by Christopher Lee, "Ladies and gentlemen, meet Loaf!". RIP.

Just the other day, I finally bought Bat Out of Hell on LP (I've had it on cassette and CD for decades). It's one of my favorite albums. I'll play it today in Meat Loaf's memory.

RIP

Apt comparison, "Wagnerian", without the baggage of Wagner's legacy.
Wagner was THE reigning drama queen of 19th century Opera with his "music dramas".
