Rare, hard to find, uncommon Pioneer components

Holy cow. Just got my A-27 home and popped the top and had a look around. I was kinda pissed it was only Series 20 branded. I have a different perspective now that I recall reading this last night.
Mine is all Series 20 and SN ends in 369. Crazy build on these and heavy as hell.
Still can’t believe it came up for sale 20 minutes from me and original owner We had a great talk. Her hubby was very careful with it and she said they never really pushed and she verified these run HOT. Said he paid $499 brand new in 79 or 80.
Benched at 144 WPC when brought in for warranty.
I do believe I am the luckiest collector on earth. Simply blessed to have the pieces I have today and the new friends I have made while hunting or buying or selling HIFi.
Cheers !!!

Has anyone seen such a Pioneer blue-line alarm clock before?
It's solid aluminium but apart from the badge on the front there's no Pioneer model number sticker or anything like that. Could it be some sort of a promotional thing for stores?

I'm actually looking for a JT-215A but couldn't resist this one

The two rear feet are actually little switches for the snooze function.

kind regards, Peter

its not mine but it caught my eye as i was browsing ebays selection of secondhand pioneer units

sxd7000 quartz synthesized stereo receiver from 1980. 120 watts per channel @ 8 ohms with .006% THD
I have 2 of these SX-D7000s. Wonderful looks and awesome sound.

For those of us who are in to collecting Pioneer components, what are the components you feel are the more difficult to find, prior to 1985?

Items that I see as being difficult (from "almost impossible" to "showing up on ebay every couple of months") are:

SD-1000
SD-1100
P-D1
P-D70
Series 20 components
HPM-150/HPM-1500
DS-40F
MXA-1
SM-Q300

But these are part of a group of components that I am interested in, so I am not looking at other components from other groups.

This component is a few years after 1985, 1992. I lost my whole system in a house fire. Still looking for another CT-W851R. Best cassette deck I've ever had. It was only made that one year.

image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg I've been reading through this thread and figured I could post. These are some pix from my little corner audio room setup. It's basically a small spare bedroom not being used. I normally have some hpm 1500 speakers in here, but the surrounds on the woofers are being repaired. I'm using some A/D/S L910's in their place. My components are common enough, but I think my clock or sign might be less so.

Spec gear and RT909-common gear with a pair of 1500’s thrown in as well. That’s hilarious and the understatement of the day

nice spare room. What’s the main listening rig?

The main rig varies with gear cycling, but currently uses a Nelson Pass Threshold and Martin Logan Prodigy hybrids. It's really three systems snuggled together since fitted into the space are also Klipsch LaScala's pushed by a Conrad Johnson PV-11 into one of Bob Latino's VTA 70 tube amps. I also maintain my first system as part of this conglomeration. It's a pair of Ampex 621 speaker amps that I bought with my father in the fifties. It's got memories and I still like the SQ. The rest of the stuff, tt's, r2r, cd and sacd, and ld decks, changes pretty much daily. I try to use all my stuff if possible. I have a very patient wife.

A volume pot assembly for a SA-8100 or SA-9100. They are an unusual, multi-gang configuration that is impossible to replace and never seems to come up for auction.... very frustrating.....

Hi everybody, greetings from the Philippines, pardon me for putting this in. I would like to seek help from the experts here for a possible replacement for two IC's installed on a vintage Pioneer car stereo KP500, these are KB4409 and HA1137. These two components are very hard to find locally, looking forward for your help. Thank you. ..it's that little radio sitting on an old receiver..

Hi all,
I'm looking for metal silver-faced knobs for my SD-1000. Any suggestions for sources?
Pioneer is the core of my rig. All 1970s. Tri-amped CS-A700 speakers,

I appreciate the help in finding sources to buy the knobs for my Pioneer SD-1000. Pioneer used their knobs on multiple units. My SA-1000 and TX-1000 have identical knobs, but they are larger in size. The SD-1000 are 19mm, and smaller than the SA-1000 and TX-1000. Any thoughts on which other models Pioneer used those SD-1000 knobs on?

Thank you!
Jim

Hi, the small knobs from the SA-1000/TX-1000 are also aprox 19mm.
Maybe the SD-1000 uses the smaller ones used on the SA-500A, they are about 17 mm.

I took a quick picture to see the difference between the SA-500A and the SA-1000 knobs.
