Raspberry Pi 4/B DAC/Streaming Journey

Was looking for another low cost usb DAC for another picore player in the garage. Fax audio DAC X3 pro on sale at Amazon for 39. Might be a bust if so will return... :)

Tempting -- pls let us know if this works out for you ... the built-in DAC on the Emotiva PT-100 is doing a great job forme via coax (it is based on AD1955 chip, which sounds better than the Behringer I was using earlier...so many choices ..)

I have one of those setting on my desk right now, drives my HifiMan HE-X4 headphones and my FX-Audio Tube-P1 tube amp. Does an excellent job.

Mine arrived today. Picore player no issues recognizing it, sounds fine on optical tv and usb from pi so far. Only nit I have is the short barrel connector to usb power cable. Although it appears to partially power from the pi usb interface. Perhaps it will fully power with another usb interface?

In any case for 39 seems like a good deal. Case and form factor are nice as with most fx audio stuff.PXL_20220118_021906523.PORTRAIT.jpg

Glad it's working for you. The short cable is why I keep a handful of 3ft USB extension cables. Seems like you always need "Just a little more".
