Does anyone have information/schematic for a University 312-200?
I just got one and thinking about re-capping it.
It sounds wonderful but thinking that ic could always use a little freshening up

It has been a few years since, but I don't remember the pair of 312/200 that passed by here to have had much more than a single cap for a Xover. I don't remember the value, but popping open the black cap will reveal it soon enough. You have to peel-off the silver stick IIRC.

With an old driver like that, and since there's only one cap, you should think about going with something old-school like a paper-in-oil or something like that. Just speculating, but I would think that you'd want to stay away from any cap that's gonna' bring on the brightness. Go with something rich, warm, and natural-sounding (as far as caps go). Maybe a n.o.s. paper-in-oil, or you could go with one of the modern ones that are still being made.

Whatever the case, you might want to read through this capacitor-test/comparison. It will give you a better idea of what will work best with a driver like that. http://www.humblehomemadehifi.com/Cap.html
