re-foaming a recently re-foamed JBL 4410

Picked up a pair of 4410's at an estate sale with surrounds rotted, grills in tattered shape and cases in bad shape. . Refoamed them and they sounded great. Then doing so research on them I realized I had 2 left speakers. Hoped to find and set of new cabinets. Looked on craigslist and found a mirrored mint set with a torn bass cone . It had a nice repair done to it and it sounded fine. Took my reformed woofers out of my bastard set and put them in my mint set. Now my plan was to sell the bastard set. Trouble was nobody wanted them . So I kept the bastard set and sold the mint set. It like choosing the runt puppy out of the litter.

I have two left shoes as well - but that doesn't bother me. I'm still trying to determine what the best sealer glue/paint is for the slightly tattered section of front edge/rim of the cone. balck gray super flat paint? elmers? mod podge? rtv? i'm hoping for something that either dries flat or that i could then cover with a flat paint.
