Hi All,

Being as I live in the future (GMT+12) RSD is already upon us.

Sadly none of the releases I wanted were in store. I think some shipments have been delayed, such is the state of things in 2021.

I did however pick up a copy of the new Garbage album which they quietly released yesterday. Look forward to spinning it.

Thought I'd kick off a thread to discuss RSD purchases and maybe review some of the RSD releases! Love to hear about it.

My errands will take me by a few record stores so hopefully I will find something.

I don't recall seeing U2 on the release list... must have missed it.
 
My local Record Shop guy treats RSD with a level of cynicism and scoops up any unsold stock from other stores once it has all died down.

One of my online shops has some available online I'm interested in although it's only a couple of 7" for more than $30 AUD each.

Was looking up the Miles Davis Kind of Blue UHQR release on Discogs for a bit of over indulgence.

"Handmade limited run reissue.
Pressed 33 1/3 RPM LP, limited to 25,000 numbered copies.
Housed in a full-colour, tip-on, stoughton, gatefold jacket jacket inside a textured slip-case w/ leatherette dowell featuring gold-foil stamp numbering.
Mastered directly from the original 3-Track master tapes by Bernie Grundman.
Pressed using Clarity Vinyl® on a manual Finebilt press.

* A minor audio complication with Kind of Blue has been addressed with this UHQR edition. The motor on the studio's 3-track master recorder was running slowly the day of the album's first session. This speed issue affected the album's first three tracks, "So What," "Freddie Freeloader" and "Blue in Green," making them a barely perceptible quarter-tone sharp.This issue was finally addressed with the Classic Records reissue in 1995. This UHQR was pressed from the same parts that Bernie Grundman cut directly from the original 3-track masters for Classic in '95."​

The U2 Fire release is just a 12" single really,it has just 4 tracks on it.
It has fire and j swallow(the b side of the orig 81 fire 7" single release) on one side and 2 live versions of fire on the b side,I picked it up yesterday and put it back when I saw the price,60 bucks AUD for what is in essence a 12" single,no chance.

Yea I know what it is, I’d not pay 60 for it either.
