Record Store Day 2021

Was working durring RSD day here. LRS is Lagniappe Records (https://lagniapperecords.com/) Mrs. said why don't I order the ones I want for Fathers Day! I ordered RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE "THE BATTLE OF MEXICO CITY" and DEF LEPPARD "WHEN THE WALLS CAME TUMBLING DOWN". They are already placing some premium prices on all the releases on the second hand sales. I guess if you can make a $$$ off of resales who am I too say you shouldn't.
 
Our local Zia had about a dozen of the RATM @djwhy60 ... didn’t seem that appealing to me so I didn’t grab a copy. Am I missing something about it? I really like RATM ... They still had lots of the RSD stuff last evening.

I did grab a copy of the Tom Petty Angel Dreams on cobalt blue vinyl. Really well done!

I heard yesterday when I was at my local that it’s supposed to be a great show with good soundboard type SQ.

I haven't received it yet...but it was supposed to be one of their best live perfomances. I am a fan too so I am giving it a go. Will post a review when it gets here.

Your timing is perfect, just spun it again. It really is a fantastic record, all the players hit the note just right. The bass on this album is right up front too, LOVE IT!:beerchug:

I have no idea, I’ve talked to the owner a few times and the only sites I know they have is the Redwood City and the downtown San Jose store. The San Jose store is not that big, but it’s packed with goodies. It’s well worth the visit.

I was there a couple years ago. I like the Niles store--it's probably twice as big as the SJ store. Just hope it survived the pandemic. My only complaint was trying to sell records back to them that I bought, cleaned, but didn't like. The guy behind the counter offered me $1 each for records I paid $10-12 just a week before, cleaned, and jacketed in QRP sleeves. I'm fine with folks making a buck, but that seemed a bit usurious to me. I kept them and donated them to Goodwill.

I’ve never sold them any of my albums, come to think of it, I’ve never sold an album.. lol I can say they have taken cassettes back that didn’t live up to the quality. They have always been good to me at the SJ site. Top quality actually. The owner and his son one time held open late for me as the son never updated the hours on the site and I’d show up as they were closing. I finally got pissed and said something. I’d allow myself an hour to shop and I’d get there and they would tell me we are closed. It happened like 3-4x. I finally asked what the deal was. The owner was like it’s time to close…. I showed him his website. He turned at looked at his son and was like “you never updated the website like I asked”… the poor kid looked like “oops”!!! Hahaha the owner apologized and let me shop, even found a few albums I was looking for and threw in a bunch of swag like stickers and mesh bags.

Got a few cassettes from them that was playable but had issues with damaged tape and would cause bad sound. Took them back and exchanged them for whatever i was buying at the time. It’s a good store, the SJ one has a great collection. If you haven’t been there in a few years it’s worth a visit. It’s changed over the years and there stock is great.

I've mostly dealt with who I think is the owner and he's always been great. The guy behind the counter when I went in was an employee I didn't recognize. I didn't feel like arguing. Hopefully someone appreciated the Goodwill score!
 
Picked up the War box set yesterday... still had plenty or RATM copies from June ...

The War set is way cool! Listening to the first LP now and it’s just pristine.
