First I stopped at the shop off Broadway. They only had a few albums available as they are primarily a used shop. However, this is where I made all of my purchases because my area's main store off Colfax was a zoo. If the fire department saw how many people were packed into that store they'd shut it down. Incredible selection but easily a 2-3 hour check-out line. It was incredible to see how much people still LOVE their wax.

The only records I was unable to snag were Death Cab, Grateful Dead, Minus the Bear, Gorillaz, and Foster the Ppl. I had a few of them in hand but just didn't want to wait in that line.

Just got back myself...It was crazy but alot of fun..I way overspent..But got all that I wanted..My girl and I were number 118 and 119. But the line ended up rapped around the building. It was crazy in the store, but thank goodness Twist and Shout is big inside :thmbsp:

I went to culture shock in Rockford,il awesome store. I got the black keys El Camino pressed at 45 rpm, it came with a poster, CD of the album a 7" 45. I also got Devo new traditionalists live in Seattle 1981 unreleased album. I had lots in my hands but just couldn't afford them. I had the phish set in my hands and let someone take it. I am happy with what I got, I was glad to see so many young guys and more girls there. Lots of them were getting Brubeck, miles Davis and coltraine.

Wow, Kermit - you got after it. That Thievery Corporation album by itself was like $50 or 60 right?

The most sought after album of the day was definitely the Phish Junta "Pollock Version" 3 LP. Those phish fans are nuts about having complete collections.

50:tears: My girl bought that one thank goodness. Its one of those things, your just grabbing, then in line you go thru and see what you can live without. Sadly, I could not live without anything:sigh:

There was a guy inline infront of me that got a Phish album, but they went quickly

No $hit! Watched through the window as folks snagged up the LP sets - I didn't get a Pollack Edition but was happy to grab one of the Deluxe Edition Copies.

From my local record store, Back Door Records in Johnson City TN:
The Cure live "Entreat Plus" double LP
Pretty in Pink soundtrack LP on pink vinyl
Public Image Limited "One Drop" 12" EP
Leonard Cohen "Live in Fredericton" 12" EP
The Civil Wars live CD
Patterson Hood & The Downtown 13 "After its Gone" 7" single
Pussy Galore "Feel Good About Your Body" 7" EP

I also ordered the Dave Brubeck 10" album from Soundstage Direct, because the local store didn't get any in.

You may have spent a lot but that's a great haul. I was close to grabbing the black keys, graceland, and thievery Corp Lps. I was not anticipating that kind of crowd. I saw a couple ppl that had infants and young kids with them in that store. Very brave!

Yeah, I say several strollers while in line. I remember last year it was crazy so no way would I be wheeling one of those around. My Black Keys album is number 83 out of 6000. Lowest number I got on any of the numbered albums.:scratch2:

I got a couple things I was looking for. Townes Van Zandt and a Gene Clark 7". Also found a Tom Waits T-Shirt. Passed on some other interesting stuff.

My local shop is small, there was only 1 hipster waiting at the door when the shop opened.

My store opened at 9:00 this morning. I got there at 8:30 and didn't get inside until 10:00. I got everything I wanted except the Bill Evans 10". What I did get:

Arctic Monkeys 7"
Dave Brubeck 10"
Empire Records soundtrack
Pretty In Pink soundtrack
Skaggs and Rice

Posted this in the RSD thread in the Music section too, but here's what I got today:

The place was surprisingly busy, I went to The Exclusive Company location by Southridge mall here in the Milwaukee area.

Went to BJ's Records in Barrie, On, Canada, most busy I've ever seen it. I love this store, decent prices. They also do a very good cleaning of all their records, they look brand new. I picked up:

- Steppenwolf: Gold
- Jethro Tull: Thick as a Brick
