I am wondering why no one has mentioned reaper as a recording software option. Why record to DVD when you can record to a laptop or PC? Maybe I am missing something.
I gathered it was to keep an old bit of kit in active use. There's no practical reason to prefer an old Magnavox DVD recorder over using a computer -- indeed, practicality would probably shun it -- but it sounds like fun.
