Watching this video compilation showing the results of people running "red" lights, just may get you to think twice as you approach any intersection. Just because the light is "green" in your direction doesn't mean that others aren't totally "asleep at the wheel" ..... or texting.

I had to turn it off about half way through. My wife was watching it with me and she doesn't deal with stuff like that very well.
 
a Very disturbing reminder that getting on the road is by far the most dangerous thing I do during the day.
Glad I don't have to drive all over the place most days, and that both my kids are alert, good drivers on the road. Be careful out there!
 
Yeah that guy in the yellow shirt was smart enough to take a peek at the idiot that was about to run him down. Good lord.

What's absolutely incredible are the number of morons that turned left right in front of an oncoming vehicle.

One reason I quit driving, there are FAR too many idiots out there. :nono: And you have to be pretty darn careful walking too, people in cars think they have the right to turn right on red after maybe slowing down a little, & woe to anyone who gets in their way. Most of them are looking left to see if another vehicle's coming, and never even consider that there might be pedestrians in the crosswalk, or waiting their turn by the lights. :thumbsdn:
 
the last guy on the scooter who got rag-dolled was bad...I hope I never see something like that again.

nor do i want to see they pedestrian who got hit ever again....
 
Are California drivers stupid? I have never seen such a display of utter stupidity behind the wheel!I mean come on!
 
First off, red light means stop, then if you are turning right proceed with caution.

Also, this is why I check both ways at a light before proceeding through it.
 
My biggest fear..... out for a putt on my Harley and going home in a wheel chair (if I'm lucky) because of a dipsh*t.

How about a new law to go with all the others, imprisonment for negligent drivers.
 
When I lived in Phoenix every nite the had a red lite runner on the tv news who caused a crash. I think the average speed thru yellow or red lites was 57.5 mph on a 45 mph road!

I've seen plenty of snowbirds putting through red lights at 30 mph as well :sigh:
 
The white "Activity" bus must have had a former NASCAR driver at the wheel. Incredible he was able to maintain control. As for the pedestrian that got hit in the crosswalk it didn't look good for him at all and I would be very surprised that he survived at all.

I wonder how many were preoccupied with texting or talking on a cell because many of them didn't even slow down as they went through the light or when they slammed into another vehicle. Scary! Makes me afraid to drive.
 
Turned my stomach to watch that. Not only at red lights you need to watch but at any intersection.
This is what happened to us when a Cop decided to blow through a stop sign. It was impossible for us to see anything until it was too late since the line of site was blocked with a guard rail.

We were doing 55 and he hit us at 45. I was on the passenger side and if wasnt for all the air bags I might not be here.
