Reel to Reel Blank Recording Tape?

Hey Everyone - I have a new Akai Reel to Reel coming soon & was wondering if anyone had a good lead on places I might still be able to buy some good quality blank tapes. It's been probably 15 years or longer since I've bought any & it looks like the pickings are getting slim!

Any info would be very much welcomed...

Hey, moondog, I've ordered from splicit and been happy. Plus they've recently added to their line. You don't mention if you're looking for 7" or 10.5", but here's a link: Magnetic Recording Tape

Splicit is excellent tape and also ATR. I was not as impressed with RMG, but many like it. Splicit is the best bang for your buck imho, but I like the quality of ATR's MDS-36 better, but it pricey. Fortunately I have a local shop that supplies it and I can avoid shipping.

You don't indicate whether the deck you will be receiving is a 7" or 10.5" type but Capture 930 is available from Splicit in 10.5" pancakes that are 3600' in length. If you have access to a deck that can handle 10.5" reels you can transfer this to two 7" reels (1800' on each reel). They also show a photograph on their website of this tape on 7" reels although this option does not appear in the format selection drop-down box. The price for the 7" reel format is $23.95 and the price for the 10.5" pancake format is $30.95. They also offer this tape for sale on eBay. It is an excellent tape.

Thanks everyone for your quick responses. I bought an Akai GX-630D which takes both size reels. I also have a Teac 3340, but it needs a tune-up.
Any other suggestions would be very much welcomed!
