Refoaming JBL LE25 tweeters

Anything to keep in mind before trying to scrape off old decomposing foam from these tweeters? A particularly good scraping tool, blue painter's tape over the dome, how to best clean the surface before applying the new surrounds?

The lead wires are under the foam which may be visible, be careful not to cut them

Unfortunately, one of the lead wires broke after peeling the remaining bottom adhesive circle. This was after taking care to scrape away the foam. Removing foam went ok with the other tweeter.

So, now I've got a broken, very thin copper lead wire. Can this be soldered somehow?

Congrats on getting it that far. I've tried to do this on LE25s before and failed miserably.

You should be able to solder the wire, I've done it in the past. I found it went much better with the wire and the new wire ends both stripped & tinned first.
