Refurb sansui au-717

I can't add any useful info,just wanted to say welcome to the board.
I'm sure that AU 717 is a worthy candidate to have refurbed.
I have the AU 517 and really admire it's performance and sound.

Thanks! This one has sentimental value to me as well. My dad purchased it new when we lived at Clark AFB in the Philippines back in 1978 and it has been in the family ever since. It is a great amp and seeing the detailed refurbs described on the site here got me excited about the possibility of giving it a new lease on life but I definitely want to make sure the right person does the surgery!

Having owned one I can attest that they are a great amp and well worth the effort to have it looked over, refurbished, restored etc;

My guess is there should definitely be some competent techs in the Charlotte area, I would suggest not limiting yourself to just that area I'm assuming there are also some techs in the Raleigh area as well.

I noticed your not getting many replies so this is just a suggestion.

Hit the "Report" link (lower left hand of your initial post) and ask a moderator to edit your thread title to something like "Seeking NC Sansui tech suggestions" this should hopefully get the attention of the numerous NC AK'ers who can then hopefully point you in the right direction.

@Hyperion, one of AK's resident Sansui experts, makes a good point
