Rega RP1 Tonearm/Needle Will Not Drop

I hope this is an easy fix, and I appreciate everyone's help in advance. I have a Rega RP1 w/performance pack that I've had for a couple of years, and while changing records a couple weeks ago during a rare block of time to listen to vinyl, the arm would not drop when using the lever to lower it.

It works if I push down on the arm outside of the record to put pressure on whatever is holding it up, and then manually drop the arm/needle down on the record. However, I'm wondering why it would still be suspended when I engage the lever, as if the the barrier underneath is still holding the arm up, and how I can go about fixing this?

Thanks for your help.

Thanks. I'll try this. I thought it was odd how it all of a sudden started doing this when it's been fine since I've had it.

I tried the Allen wrench and it just lowered the position of the tonearm but the needle was still suspended and would not drop into the record when lowering the queue. I sprayed a little WD-40 on the spot that was suspending the arm and it actually worked...now the needle drops onto the record like it should! So simple and very happy over here.
