Rega RP1 Upgrade?

Hi all --- I have a Rega RP1 with "performance pack" that I've used the last 7 years. I notice they've discontinued the model, and finding parts can be challenging. It's been an ok table...I bought a Pro-Ject DC Carbon as a backup table but with the upgrades I've made on that (belt, acrylic platter, cartridge), I actually like it a lot better than the RP1.

Are there any additional upgrades that can be made to the RP1? Like the platter? I'd like to toss the wool mat. Cartridges? Anything else?

Glass platter makes a big difference. The 10mm thick is the correct size. My RP1 is totally upgraded. Only the dust cover and plinth are original. A Groovetracer subplatter makes a big diiference too. I like the wool mat. But mine has the thinner RP 10 mat.

Thanks. So would I still need to use a mat with the glass platter? I ask since I don’t use a mat on an acrylic platter on my other TT.
