Remastered Beatles Vinyl: Will you buy?

There are rumours circulating about a Fall 2009 release of the Beatles catalog on remastered vinyl. If they use hi-rez 24/192 digital masters rather than sourcing directly from the analog tapes, will you still buy them? While I don't expect them to replace Parlophone originals, I have high hopes for them.

Nope. I bought a UK Beatles Blue Box and a few other releases, so I have an almost complete collection of stereo Beatles, and am making headway on my mono Beatles collection. No need for digitally sourced vinyl for me.

I will be buying the new CDs, though!
 
Nope.

I recently scored a UK Blue Box in NM condition. That, plus about 20 other Beatles LPs and I'm all set. Besides, I can only take so much Beatles. How many times have I already heard those records?
 
I have heaps of Beatles on vinyl (UK mono Parlophone, etc.), but I will likely buy selected titles (e.g., "Rubber Soul") on digitally-sourced vinyl because I lack willpower.

I will definitely purchase the mono CD boxset and likely many stereo CDs.

I've read all the press releases but I havn't seen anything about new vinyl. Did this rumor come from a reliable source?
 
Of course!

Why not especially if its good stuff. I have the originals in great condition and some are new and sealed.
I can think of many Beatles LP's I would love to have on remastered vinyl. Oh Yeah!

I agree as I have none yet. My reason? To help create more demand for new vinyl which is what we need more of.

I especially want Help, White Album, Revolver, and Rubber Soul.
 
I have all the Beatles records...but they are the same ones I bought when I was a teenager! In other words they are not in the greatest shape. I would love to buy new replacements but you can bet that Apple will be out to empty your wallet on these new discs. I'm going to guestimate that each disc will be over $30.00. No way! I'd rather stick to my Dr. Ebbetts Beatles CDs since I doubt the new Apple product will sound any/much better.
 
I already have sealed original British copies of the 12 studio LPs, so no.

Wait a minute, these aren't the Beatles, it's the Hollydridge Strings PLAYING the Beatles.

And their not British.

And they're not sealed; someone just spilled shiny goo on them and it hardened. Gross.

For serious, though, if they offer a substantial amount of extras (better or deluxe packaging, bonus tracks, 45 rpm pressings) then maybe. I don't think my system is good enough, or ever will be, to find a huge difference between digital sourced LPs and analog originals.

No mention on the Apple site. Just a wishful thinking rumor at this point.

That being said, I reckon many of us feel that LPs are inevitable based on recent LP trends.

We'll see.

I was under the impression that on 9/9/09 the remastered Beatles catalog was being issued on CD, with a CD box set as well as individual CD's. I have seen no mention of vinyl releases until seeing this thread.

I would like to see documentation of the source of this vinyl information. :thmbsp:
 
I'm not a huge beatles fan, and rarely listen to the many beatle alubms I already have. It would be cool to have, but I'm sure the price will be more than I'd be willing to pay.
 
Don't sweat the "no mono blues"...just go to any record swap/convention and buy a set of Dr. Ebbett's Sound System Beatles boots (just do a google search on Dr. Ebbett). There is even a magnificient mono transfer of The White Album...and a Brazilian mono Abbey Road. Great stuff...too bad Apple didn't hire him!
 
I've never even seen a UK Beatles album in my presence. I do have two oddball imports - one from Germany covering their early singles and album hits, and another from Italy of their early German live stuff.

One thing that never ceases to amaze me is the durability of that old Capitol vinyl. I have Beatles discs that look like they should contain nothing but massive pops and static, and they still play OK.
