Remote for Magnavox CDB-570 CD changer

So I recently acquired a Magnavox CDB-570 six-disc CD changer in absolutely pristine condition. It's really hard to believe this thing is almost 30 years old (manufacture date is Aug. 1987). Even the Multidisc magazine is virtually without scratches. But like many older units, it parted ways with its remote long before it came into my hands. So now I'm on the hunt for a replacement. The thing is, I don't have the manual and can't find one anywhere online. I did find one Web site that listed Magnavox devices and compatible OEM remotes. It showed about eight different CDB series players with model numbers both above and below 570 but it didn't specifically list CDB-570. All of the CDB series players on the list showed the same remote (RD5501/00 482221810289) so I feel like maybe the odds are reasonably good this one might be compatible with the CDB-570 as well.

Does anyone know of a resource that might help me pin down the proper remote or know if there are other potentially compatible remote models (including programmable universal remotes) that would work with this unit? I've bookmarked a couple of similar ones on eBay but I'd hate to shell out for one that isn't compatible. At the same time, I know from experience that remotes often have a broader range of compatibility than just the model it shipped with. Also, I've noticed that some Magnavox CD changers from that era look similar enough to Pioneer players that I have to wonder if they aren't re-branded Pioneer units and thus able to use a Pioneer remote (A long shot, I know).

I think the Magnavox is made by Philips- I assume a Philips remote will do the basic functions.

I got a remote off of eBay for my Pioneer CD changer, which is some eight years newer than the Magnavox. After putting batteries in it and confirming that it works with the Pioneer as it should, I pointed it at the Magnavox just for fun and lo and behold, it operates the Magnavox as well! The power button on the remote won't turn the Magnavox on but amazingly, everything else works. I'm thinking of getting a second one for the Magnavox since the two players will ultimately end up being used at opposite ends of the house.

This coincidence further reinforces my supposition, based on several striking design similarities between Magnavox and Pioneer units made around the same time, that the Magnavox and Pioneer changers may have been based on a common design and were perhaps even share a common manufacturer.

On closer examination, the reason the remote doesn't turn the Magnavox off and on is because the player wasn't designed for that function to be operated remotely. The power switch has physical 'on' (pushed in) and 'off' (pushed out) positions. Still, the operates the functions I really need it to, so I'm pleasantly surprised and will be getting another one.
