Removing scratches from dust cover.

I've been waiting to see if something will work on spots that sandpaper won't reach.
The headlight buffing stuff looks ideal for large areas but what do you use in the corners?

This thing would look so cool if I could get rid of some of the craze areas.

You can do it manually, just takes a lot longer.

I liked the Turtle Wax pads design. Theres a little foam between the two sides of abrasive. It is flat on plastic as you slide it. And they have round corners. So I think less media edges that could scratch. I got close the inside edges. But don't want to run into inside edges.

First grit leaves it white cloudy. But need to remove scratches. If Thier really deep. Can be chalange. I had one deep gouge on top I didn't completely remove. It's faintly seen.

The instructions to sand each step 90° to earlier grit, makes more time consuming. But, likely to make better finished job.

My dustcover had been stored upside down with stuff in it. So interior also scratched. Really have to do many areas by hand with polish step. Rotary polishing inside top can only be done away from sides. I maybe spent 4 hours on it.
Everything is done wet.

I washed cover in laundry tub between grits and before polish. Making sure grit was gone. And see progress.

All those little rectangles are like the inside of mini dust covers but no space for wheels or any of the easy tools.

No biggie, just hoping for the easy fix.

Wet sanding through 3000, mothers ultimate compound, scratch x2.0, mothers polish all on the appropriate pads followed by a hand buff with a very high quality microfiber or flannel cloth to apply a coat of wax to give it a deep shine.

wonderful job on that, question for you though. i just attempted my first time cleaning one. i have some slight haze and fine scratches still. would you mind taking a look at the thread i posted and giving me some tips.
