Super Member
Any ideas for safely removing white paint on a black speaker cloth?
I have a DCM Timeframe TF-400 that I got cheap that I would
like to restore.

Thanks!

Can you tell if its acrylic or enamel?
Black grill cloth?....why not just apply black paint or black magic marker and be done w/it?

Photo, please.

black paint or magic marker over the white blob, you then will have a black blob on the cloth.I had same thing on a pair of Marantz SP-1500 grills I was working on and I used a mild form of fingernail polish remover then wipe over with damp cloth, let dry and THEN you can touch up with black magic marker to re-darken the cloth because the FNPR will cause the threads to go "chalky". I used the rounded edge of paper clip as a scraper since it's not blunt and won't pull the fibers. I am well versed in stain removal of things from fabrics as I am a third generation Quality Dry Cleaner. I spent 90% of my working day in front of a Cissell spotting board with 50 different types of chemicals across the entire PH scale and a steam/air gun. :)
