Repair recommendations for Onkyo P-303 preamp

I have a P-303 that has a failing left output channel. It still outputs a very weak signal that minimally increases/decreases in volume in response to the volume control, and is also crackling at the same time in equal measure to the volume. This started out of the blue today and is totally isolated to that output jack. I don't have anyone locally that can work on this; I know that it is 39 years old but I'm not ready to give it up yet!

So I'm looking for some recommendations for trusted repair/service shops, preferably that have a known history with Onkyo gear. Would also like one in the southeast if possible, but that's not a limiting factor.

Thanks in advance,
Tom

Tom, check your accessory send/receive switch on the rear panel is cleaned (deoxit). Switch it back and forth and see if that is the problem.

This can be the source for problems in the P-303 as the flat amplifier goes through that switch before entering the line stage buffer.

Thanks for the suggestion... gave it a go this morning, but no joy! :(

Preamp, lightweight and easy to pack and ship for lower cost.

Tom at Northridge Electronics in California was involved with the design. I know who I would contact about servicing. Now if he says just get it fixed instead of knowing a few upgrades while I'm in there, then some of the techs in the southeast would be fine.

Thanks very much for this, I agree completely and will give him a call.
