Replace parallel resistors with a single resistor?

yeah, drift is my biggest reason for not using CC resistors. That and they get noisy, though thats not really an issue here.

The HF properties of resistors at audio frequencies really isn't an issue. The concern there is the minute inductance that comes from the spiral cuts in the resistive material that forms a film type resistor. Its possibly a concern at radio frequencies but if your audio amp is working as an RF amp you have other problems.
 
IMO, carbon comp resistors have nothing good going for them in audio applications. Even in RF applications there are very few reasons or situations where they're really better. A good 5W MOX will work fine here.
 
Is it possible they’re parallel for safety against a complete failure? If one or the other fails there’s still 10ohms as opposed to an open across the inductor.
