Replacing a headphone jack? (C-4)

messaged a tech I've used and he said 'the insides might be different, its the bane of my existence' and got me kinda spooked these wont match the original jack...
 
Hope you're right or this is gonna suck...(fingers crossed i can reglue the original as a backup and its not totally shattered when i open this thing up...)

casing is like half a mm shallower in height, too hard to tell if the jacks line up the same, but the pins do....(hyperventilating, but looks like i could glue the original back together if forced to, at least)
 
oook first hiccup, the shape of the barrel on these are rotated 90*, with the flat sides on the top and bottom vs. the sides, so the metal bracket wont go on unless i can widen the metal...


(the fender one appears the same)

thankfully a little dremel action ground the hole a bit wider

update: the height was a slight issue and the jack wouldnt line up with the faceplate, unless you use some pliers to get bend it into the hole. Not perfect. So I unsoldered it, and this time used a thin strip of cardboard from a box of food and used them as spacers between the jack and the pcb, and that was enough height to get it directly through the faceplate in one shot, perfect.

Is that a gold or silver ring ? Either way. It doesn't look bad at all..

But .. About that red power button.. LOL :biggrin:
