Hello AK,
Any suggestions on a repair person in the SF Bay Area? I'm pretty sure I just need tune ups for my receivers. Thanks in advance!

This is an authorized Rega repair center which is why I sent my Rega Apollo. The service was fast and reliable. I was so happy with the service that I have now sent him my Onix OA21S integrated amp. It is English made about 1985 vintage. I am anxious to have him fix it.
 
I know an awesome guy in Martinez. He did great work on my Marantz 2265B and Sansui 9090DB.

I'll 3rd Norm at Sertech.
 
The Sound Well in Berkeley no longer does repairs much, they recommend:

Gene's Sound Service 415-377-1258
House Calls only, based in San Francisco but works most of the Bay Area. He does charge for travel time but in our opinion is very reasonable. He will fix a lot of things most of us won't touch and we are amazed at what he can fix on your kitchen table. Gene knows his stuff and is trustworthy to let into your home!

I second the recommendation for L&M Electronics in Daly City. They've been at that location for more than 30 years and are very competent.

I had several good experiences with them about 8 years ago. They're right near the Cow Palace on Geneva Ave.

If I pick up a receiver that needs repair, I repair the issue, then, see below.

If I pick up a receiver that is fully working, or after a repair, I clean all controls, look for leaking caps, look for corrosive glue, replace burnt out lamps, check relay contacts, set DC offset and bias, check power supply voltages, tweak FM front end, repair any issues that come up.

I have done 100% recaps for people, but most of MY gear is original aside from repairs.

I have a 9090DB here (not mine) that will be getting all new caps, replace fuse resistors, replace input differential pairs, new relay, then set DC and bias.

I believe that further discussion should probably be via PM's. (yes)
