Rest in peace, Bailey the Audio Dog.

Just saw this. Sorry to hear this Ron! She will be in your heart and waiting for you when you get there, your faithful friend as always.

I was adopted by a dog once... It was wonderful! I am sorry that your friend is gone. I miss mine too. Take care, my thoughts are with you.

Wow. Very touching write up. Thanks for sharing. From what you've written, I am pretty sure that Bailey was blessed to have landed in your home.

Ron,
I just saw this. I'm very sorry for you and your family. She will be missed. She'll always be remembered. At some point in the future you'll laugh and smile when you think of her. The empty feeling won't go away, but the pain will subside and be replaced by the joy of all the memories you have.

As a fellow dog-guy, I understand how hard it was to help her in the end. It's the last great gift we can give to our friends/family/companions. We do get selfish and keep them around sometimes, longer than maybe we should. It takes commitment and love to let them go while they still have some dignity.

I've dealt with this way too often in the past few years. I don't envy you or your family. I will say that you can all look forward to laughing at memories some time in the future.

I agree with that also. As everybody knows that's gone through it before, you know your doing the right thing but it sure doesn’t feel that way when the time comes.

It's almost been a week now and everybody's feeling much better about things. The sadness of loss is washing away and is being replaced by smiles from good memories.

If dogs have memories of specific events, I’m sure that one of her grandest ones would surely be from Mini Fest get-togethers with many of you mugs in attendance. She probably consumed about 3 lbs. of steak and lord know what else at each of these events just by cozying up to generous AK’ers that were suckers for a pretty face ;)

Thanks to all once again for your thoughts and support.

Ron,

I just came across this. Boy, am I sorry to read it. Bailey was a great dog and you gave her a great home and many years of love and joy. And she had an excellent taste in music. I told Bob and he got pretty bummed too.

I still remember the time that Bailey pawed in front of the CD player because she didn't like the song--was some sort of classic rock and those who knew her knew she was jazz and blues.

Anyway very bummed, sorry to hear she's gone, the next fest won't be quite the same without her running around.

Thanks, guys. It's hard not having her with us but she had a good life. She went from 4 years of the racing life and living in a kennel to spending the last 9+ living a life of luxury. A good life I'd say

She think she had pretty good taste in music and would hang out by my side listening for hours. I could tell when she wasn't happy with the tunes because she would get up, give me a what the heck are you listening to glance and just leave the room shaking her head ;)
