Rewiring a transformer, using single insulated wire over double insulated?

Pioneer thought it would be a fantastic idea to wire-wrap the transformer to the PCB. So, unfortunately, my only choice here is to undo the wire-wraps in order to remove the PCB. The problem is that the brittle 37 year old wire is now not long enough for me to create a new wire-wrap connection, let alone solder them, so I think I'll just replace the wires. What I have as a replacement is 20 AWG single insulated wire, rated at 300v and 105c. It's pretty much the same as the factory wire, both being 20 AWG, though I can't find a voltage reading on the factory wire. And the factory wire is double insulated and noticeably thicker than the new wire. Would this pose any problems, such as a noisy circuit?

Insulation doesn't affect noise, only matters where wires are in contact with each other or other components. Bare wire would be fine as long as nothing can touch it (if you can touch it, it better be insulated!) 300V is plenty.
 
I usually desolder the pins with the wire-wrap on them, instead of removing the wires.

If your circuit works under 300V, a 300V insulation is OK. If your unit stays under 105ºC, 105ºC insulation is OK.

Don't worry about noises, it's not related to this kind of wires. It's more important the wiring layout than the kind of wire.

I would de-solder them if I could, but there's unfortunately no way to do that without removing the PCB, and I have to unwrap the transformer's wires to remove the PCB. Thanks for the info, though.
