Kenwood KR-9600 / Pioneer SX-950 / Sony STR-GX10ES
Hello all. This is a long shot I feel but I have come into possession of this project one receiver that is in immaculate condition. The only problem is the high tone switch was broken at some point. I’m now trying to open it up and repair it. I have added two pictures below but I’m unsure how exactly these switches work and if I’m putting it back properly. Any assistance would be much appreciated.
photo one shows the inside of the back housing of the switch. Photo two shows the way it appeared to be oriented with the middle piece included as well. The spring in the switch appearing to move vertically perhaps in between the two metal pieces of the part labeled number two. Of note, part two doesn’t appear to readily ‘snap’ into anything in the switch.
I’ve never fixed one of these so part two might be oriented differently. I’m looking for any information on how to proceed with putting this back together. I’m sure that there needs to be metal/metal contact between parts 2 and 3 but I’m unsure how exactly that occurs. Photo four is part 2 and 3 closer together for a size reference. Photo five and six show the backside of part 2 and 3, respectively. Photo seven is of the unit itself. Looks like a pioneer sx750 copy.
If this is a lost cause that is also OK as the unit sounds great in its current condition. Apologies if this was not the proper forum for this post. I can remove if that’s the case. Any help is appreciated.
