One of the last from the golden days of sports in Bawlamer. Now, finally, he and Charlie Eckman can get back to arguing about....everything!

Art was one of those old school guys that got the job done!

Artie Donovan was well loved in Baltimore for a long time. I do have a copy of his autobiography, Fatso somewhere around here (yet to be unpacked, methinks).

Loved watching him on David Letterman.

RIP, Art.

I loved Art. He lived a huge, long, wonderful life and none of us could ask for more.

My parents were Colt season ticket holders and for some reason my mom didn't like Artie. While quite pregnant with my brother she and my dad were riding down the elevator at Memorial Stadium and my mom was ragging on Artie's play that day. Mrs. Donovan was riding in the same elevator. In the mid 60s my dad took me to meet him at his store in East Baltimore (the section of the city where they say Bawlmer). He was one funny guy and a truly unique individual.
