The man was respected!!! if anyone reading this hasn't heard it they should check out The Clash doing great service in their cover of Pressure Drop
As well as The Specials
With the likes of Toots & The Maytals, Desmond Dekker, The Skatalites and more their music had a profound impact on UK culture and the birth of the Two Tone movement and seeped into Punk which was very cool.
Kinda staying on the same tip, Don Letts known for his collaborations (videographer, DJ) with The Clash and appearing on the cover of Black Market Clash put out a real cool documentary a couple of years ago called The Story of Skinhead. It's a real cool dive into dispelling the notion that ALL skinheads were mindless cretins intent on stomping your head in the ground. A lot of the focus was on how popular Ska & Reggae were fused into Two Tone and Punk.
